Baby Legs

Does anybody else have baby's legs that are too chubby for Baby Legs?

I have no idea where it gets it, and the cheeks to match.

I'm wondering if the homemade version would stay up any better?

New Shoes

For our anniversary date, I decided to get some fancy new heels. I have not bought heels or any shoe not super practical since our cruise in 2003. So, I figured it was time. I loaded up all the kids and headed to Target. Why? Because that is the kind of shopping I can do with three kids in tow. I found some I really liked and Walker agreed stating, "they're beautiful." What do you think?

Fancy Shoes

I only "sort of" fell once. I credit this to having someone kindly break in my new shoes.

I love him!

Reason #472 Why Alabama is Fantastic.

The weather is mild enough on your January birthday to go play at the park.

Go!

I did not pose them. Eli tripped and fell down (Hey Helena Parks and Rec, time to refill the bark) and then just stayed there. Walker decide he should give him ride and hopped on. I was dying I was laughing so hard. One day they will regret this, but right now it is adorable.

2001 and 2002 were pre-digital camera days and my scanner is umm, busy, right now. I did scan in some wedding photos last year. Also, it was pretty hard to find pictures of the two of us, must less without a child in the photo. We must do better about that.

And. He. Is. Up.

He Stands

He Stands

As I watch my precious boy zoom through these milestones, my heart is breaking for the mothers and children in Haiti. Mothers who are not worried about their child pulling up on his own, but rather how long he will go hungry.

Baby Went to the Park

Temperatures made it into the fifties this week. We jumped at the chance to run and play in the fresh air. Baby Colin rode in the sling for a good hour. Then he noticed how much fun his brothers were having. He politely requested to be put down to enjoy a bit of freedom.

Isn't his mismatchiness precious. I can fit him under my coat in the sling. I don't know why I own a coat that big, but it has worked out nicely. I didn't expect him to want to get down so I had to go with what we had in the van, but I think it is pretty endearing.

In a blink he is going to be off and running with his brothers. This is his first step. This is me soaking it up.

New Yoga Pants

Haiti Donate Online

For Christmas my dad and Jayne gave me an American Express gift card. It is always one of my favorite gifts. I love being able to go out and buy things for myself without impacting the family budget. It wasn't difficult to come up with some ideas. A manicure, a Starbucks for no reason at all, new yoga pants (the mommy wardrobe), and so forth.

After hearing about the devastation in Haiti I really wanted to find a way to help. From most of what I have read it is important to give money right now to the organizations already on the ground. But...our budge is tight, we should be giving more in other places, it's not only my money to give, and a list of a million other never ending excuses came flowing in.

I got in the shower and felt God tugging at my heart (sometimes mommy's only quiet place). "You have money you don't need. You have money you can give without taking anything away from your family. You need to give." I know it is a small start and by no means where my giving should end, but it is a start.

I gave to Compassion. Robin did a great post on why they are a good choice for donations. Be listening.

New Years Eve

Jason and Ben bought fireworks for the kids this year. I don't know how much money they spent, but the show was great and the kids loved it, and it is probably better if I just don't know.

We met at the Wyrosdicks with the Hueys and the Lawsons. The Hueys and the Lawsons have three boys pretty close in age to our boys. It was the perfect laid back celebration. And there were fireworks, expensive fireworks, but fantasic fireworks.

After just a few fireworks had been shot off, Walker and Eli were the only ones left outside to enjoy the show.

Although, Walker did decide to back up after a bit.

After all the big ones had been shot off, the little boys went inside. The big boys [read: daddies] shot fireworks at each other and hit neighbors houses and cars in the process. No worries, mom, one of the participants is a fireman [Ha!]. Of course there were six sets of little eyes watching them though the window, but whatever.

So That's the Reason

For all that drool.

Colin's First Tooth

Please slow down my little one. Cannot believe he as a tooth just a few days shy of his seventh month. He seems to be on an accelerated path. I'm starting to wonder with all these early developments (compared to my others) and his size, if maybe I was pregnant with him for 11 months instead of 9. Nope, I definitely would have noticed that.

Eli's first tooth at 9 months. Walker was 10 months (and I wasn't blogging yet, see there are some benefits to being the second child).

was difficult.

Hey, at least Eli participated.

And Mrs. Claus gave us cookies.

That weren't very good. Big letdown.

It was a lovely visit with Santa and lunch with daddy. I love this Christmas tradition and I hope they don't object to sitting on Santa's lap and eating mall food for about the next 16 years.

Laugh, Let's Laugh

The boys and I had some fun with Photo Booth. Well, most of us did. Walker would not get in the pictures. He stood to the side and laughed with us, but would not join in the photos. I suppose in the long run that is smart.
