Colin's Dedication

Colin's Dedication

On Mother's Day we had the privilege of dedicating Colin. It was a great opportunity to make a public commitment to raise Colin in the church and in the word.

It was also hilarious to think of the five of us being on stage. There were 5 other families dedicating their children on this day. Two of those families also have 3 small boys. So on the stage there were 11 kids, and one was a girl. Look out, in a few years the Clearwater softball team will be unstoppable.

The boys did great. I wish we had gotten a family picture after church, but the moment has passed so I must let that go. I had all the boys and Jason wear orange and green and I wore pink and orange (cause I'm the girl). Next time!

Colin's life verse comes out of 2 Timothy. Jason was in the midst of studying 2 Timothy when Colin was born. It is simple, but it truly is our desire for our son.

"You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus," - 2 Timothy 2:1
Oh, that we could all live in the strength of His grace.

Colin's Dedication (this was the point where Eli started to push up my dress, a fantastic moment indeed)

Swinging

Baby Colin had his first ride in a real swing. He loved it. He giggled and it was adorable. The park was almost empty, so all the boys were able to swing at the same time. Quite a rare occurrence. He is almost one, and in moments like these I can actually feel the time zooming by us.

Oh how they love this little boy and they love to help!

A very short video, there is always someone to manage.

Great-Grandchildren

Trip to L.A.

My grandparents have always made huge efforts to be involved in their grandchildren's lives. Now they make the same strides to see their great-grandchildren, which now mounts to four great-grandsons. It is amazing to have them in our lives.

All four great-grandsons working on the dune buggy.

Trip to L.A.

It lost some of its magic when the "engineer" had to do a quick charge on the battery before we could ride, but a train ride is always fun.

Family Counts 2010

Family Counts 2010

Alabama Power puts on a free carnival/fair/festival/barbecue type thing for its employees and their families each year. We have been before, but this year was by far the best. The weather was perfect. The kids were wonderful. Everyone played and ate and generally had a blast. It is great that this company does this for its employees (and us by default).

Family Counts 2010
And mommy prays this is the only kind of motorcycle they ever want to drive.

Family Counts 2010
This was a "little kids ride." You should have seen all the big kids trying to get on.

Family Counts 2010
Colin was happy to people watch in the stroller and to ride in the babyhawk when the people got boring.

Family Counts 2010
Walker and Gammie.

Family Counts 2010
Jason and Eli.

Family Counts 2010
He definitely set a personal best record on his bouncy maze time.

Family Counts 2010
Oh yes did.

Family Counts 2010
This was Walker's favorite part. Free "green sprites." I usually only let the kids drink water or milk, so this was a big deal. Everywhere he turned around there were free and available soft drinks. Win.

Family Counts 2010
Fair food. Sugary, sticky and fantastic. And that kid, under the hat, he is pretty fantastic as well.

Family Counts 2010
Tiny train, yes please.

Family Counts 2010
Race car train, sure. Why not?

We are already excited for next year.

This Baby is Above Average

Like 3 or 4 degrees above average. For 36 hours now. We are rotating motrin and tylenol to keep it under control, but this fever has just continued to hold on. And, Colin is amazing. A bit more needy and he has taken an extra nap, but pretty much acting like his normal happy self.

Colin
He hates to have his nose wiped, so I avoid it unless absolutely necessary.

Colin
Just normal 10 month old stuff, today. You know, standing, cruising, taking steps all on his own.

Colin
And maybe spending just a bit more time with blankie today.

You know if Thomas comes to town, the McCay boys are going to be there.

This kid was amazing. Couldn't have asked for a more cooperative baby.

Walker didn't want to stop playing with the trains to slide. He quickly changed his mind and had a blast.

Eli's "safety slide"

IMG_4213.JPG
This was hilarious. They were playing a cross between mini golf and billiards.

The professional photographer would not get out of my shot (note the strap). I suppose it isn't a big deal since clearly I didn't brush Eli's hair and Walker his making his painful-smile-face.

We did not purchase tickets, but rather just went to do all the free activities that Thomas brings with him. We had perfect weather, more to do than time to do it, and spent $2. Fantastic!
